2nd woman dies after South Salt Lake crash

SOUTH SALT LAKE -- South Salt Lake City authorities say a second woman has died from her injuries after a head-on crash that also injured two other people over the weekend.

Police spokesman Gary Keller said Tuesday that 50-year-old Taylorsville resident Lisa Gallegos Kelly has died.

Kelly was a passenger in a red Cadillac that crossed a median at 3300 South and West Temple at about 5:15 p.m. Sunday and struck a blue Hyundai waiting at a stop light.

Cadillac driver Randi M. Byers of West Valley City was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say the 16-year-old girl driving the Hyundai and her 19-year-old male passenger were taken to the hospital, where they were in stable condition Monday.
