SALT LAKE CITY— Fire crews are battling a fast-moving wildfire in western Utah that temporarily shut down a highway.
The fire has grown to about 500 acres. The blaze forced the partial closure of state Route 73 between Lehi and Tooele Thursday, but it was reopened in the evening.
KSL reports (http://bit.ly/JA8wih ) that the fire was sparked by an equipment malfunction Thursday morning and quickly spread because of high winds in the area.
Authorities say the fire is in a remote area and not threatening structures. There is a chance that nearby campgrounds could be evacuated.
