Meet the Utah Unity, the state's newest professional sports franchise.
The Unity are a new pro volleyball team that will play in the Premier Volleyball League. The roster features many local products -- like Airial Salvo (Viewmont High, Utah), Brenda Barton-Wicker (Davis High, Utah), and Kayla Walker (Davis, BYU).
The team will play in the upcoming 12-team inaugural PVL tournament taking place at the USA Volleyball Open Championships, set for May 26-June 2 in Salt Lake City.
Perhaps a bigger deal, the women provide professional opportunities and adult role models for young volleyball players across the state.

Wolverine power
Utah Valley University's exciting baseball winning streak has been the perfect combination or success and sheer surprise.
The Wolverines won an amazing 32 straight this season, knocking off big teams and little, but more importantly, getting the job done day-in and day-out.
But on Tuesday at Brent Brown Ballpark, Utah Valley dropped an 11-10 battle to rival Utah.
The winning streak will go down as the fourth longest in NCAA history.

The winning Utah team includes Gavin Green (Layton), Biss Larsen (Viewmont) and Centerville's Joe Pond (Judge Memorial).
