WEST POINT -- Owners of the 7-Eleven convenience store have applied for a class A beer license.
The process began in April and was presented at the May 15 council meeting.
Utah state law and city code regulate the sale of alcoholic beverages. City code requires a criminal background check on the store manager.
The city council approved the beer license subject to a completed background check within 30 days of the issuance of the beer license or it will be revoked.
The 7-Eleven will be be the only business in the city currently licensed to sell beer.
