KAYSVILLE -- The city council recently approved a tentative budget for fiscal year 2013.
The budget includes increases to accommodate for the hiring of three additional police officers, as well as needed updates to the power system due to the growth the city has experienced in recent years.
Council members voted to fund the increase by transferring funds from the utility enterprise fund to the general fund, rather than a potential property tax increase.
The tentative budget is now available for the public to consider before the final budget is approved. A public hearing is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. June 19 at city hall, 23 E.
