MURRAY -- The state's largest billboard company is suing the city of Murray, claiming officials refuse to accept its application for a digital upgrade to its billboard off Interstate 15.
KSL reportsReagan Outdoor Advertising has sued Murray in 3rd District Court for refusing to allow the company to add a digital face to its existing sign.
Dewey Reagan, the company's president and general manager, says the company was told the application wouldn't be considered "because they felt the billboard presented a traffic hazard."
The lawsuit asks that Murray be required to approve Reagan's application. It also asks the court to find that Murray's city code that prevents such electronic conversions be considered a violation of state law.
Murray city attorney Frank Nakamura has declined comment.
