OGDEN -- Weber State's women's volleyball team announced the signing of transfer Audrey Biggs to a scholarship for the upcoming 2012 season.

Biggs, a 6-foot-1 outside hitter, joins the Wildcats as a transfer from Wichita State, and will have three seasons of eligibility.

"We're very excited to have Audrey join our team," Weber State coach Tom Peterson said. "She has a very good arm and a powerful swing. She has good size and is a strong blocker."

Biggs is a 2011 graduate of Pleasant Grove High School, helping the Vikings to back-to-back appearances in the state 5-A championship match, and the 2009 state title.

Biggs played her club volleyball for Utah Peak Performance in 2011 and for Club Utah in 2009-10.

"She brings good experience to our team, and is coming from a very strong Wichita State program that played in the NCAA tournament last year," Peterson said. "She will have an opportunity to come in and compete for playing time quickly."

Biggs plans to major in athletic therapy at Weber State.
