A Hooper teen was shot and killed early Monday while on a group camping trip near the Yuba Reservoir.
The boy's brother is in custody and has been arrested on charges of manslaughter.
The Juab County Sheriff's Office confirmed Monday that Cameron Bryce Charlton, 17, of Hooper, died Monday. Charlton, who just finished his junior year at Fremont High School, was camping with his brother, Eric, 27, a Marine on leave, and a group of about 18 others, at the Oasis campground.
The Charlton brothers and a friend were sitting around a campfire near their tent between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. Monday when the fatal shot was fired.
According to the sheriff's department, alcohol was a factor in the incident.
