SALT LAKE CITY -- The Utah Highway Patrol says they saw no fatal crashes statewide over Memorial Day weekend.
Statistics released Tuesday show troopers counted 69 crashes that led to property damage and 21 that resulted in injuries.
The agency reported stopping 5,094 vehicles, citing 2,217 people for not wearing a seat belt, and arresting 85 people for driving under the influence.
UHP Trooper Lawrence Hopper says the agency ramped up its staffing to handle the extra visitors Friday through Monday.
The crash statistics include only roadways in the highway patrol's jurisdiction.
