PLEASANT VIEW - A presentation on the Utah National Guards Veterans Assistance program and Community Covenant program was recently presented to city council members by Capt. Earl Simmons of the Utah National Guard.

Simmons asked the city to support the Community Covenant Program, which is a program that offers assistance and support to all military branches and their families.

Simmons asked for a liaison for the program. Police Chief Scott Jackson volunteered for the position.

A ceremony linking the city with the Community Covenant Program will be held during the upcoming Founders Day Celebration on June 23.
