DEGREE RECIPIENTS:
Melyn McKay Heckelman, daughter of Bruce and Lori Heckelman, of Mill Spring, N.C., was recently accepted for a doctoral program in medical anthropology with Hughes Hall at Cambridge University in England. A 2004 Weber High School graduate, and a 2008 graduate of Colby College, Waterville, Maine, Heckelman graduated magna cum laude with honors in anthropology and government. She is completing a fellowship with Global Health Corp. and acting as business development director for a woman’s health clinic in Burundi, Africa. She has been developing a woman’s cooperative in multiple villages throughout the country. Heckelman is also employed by two global consulting firms and works on assignment out of Geneva and London.
Daniel Jason Gallegos, of Ogden, received a Master of Science degree in information systems from Hawaii Pacific University in Honolulu.
James Buchanan, of Brigham City, was awarded a Master of Public Administration degree from Anna Maria College in Paxton, Mass.
Andrew LeTellier, of Ogden, received a master’s degree in education from the University of Portland in Oregon.
DEAN’S LIST: Lindsey Mayer, of Ogden, was named to the spring semester dean’s list at the University of Portland in Oregon. To obtain dean’s list status, students need at least a 3.5 grade-point average.
