FARMINGTON -- A plea bargain may be forthcoming for an 18-year-old who police say shot another man in January.
Daniel Alonso Garcia, of Clearfield, appeared in 2nd District Court on Monday with his attorney, Sean Young. He is charged with attempted murder, a first-degree felony; the discharge of a firearm causing serious bodily injury and with gang enhancement, also a first-degree felony; riot, a third-degree felony; and possession of a dangerous weapon, a class B misdemeanor.
Young said he believes the case will be resolved by June 11. A hearing is set for that date, when Garcia will enter guilty pleas or dates for a trial will be set.
Police said Garcia shot Darrell Morris, 35, three times at an apartment complex in Clearfield. Garcia is being held in Davis County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
