ROY -- A young boy escaped injury when a fire erupted Tuesday in a home near 3900 South and 2000 West in Roy.
Roy Deputy Fire Chief Bret Felter said the fire started around 2:30 p.m. and a bedroom was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived.
A window in the room had broken out and an RV camper parked next to the home was also on fire, Felter said.
He estimated the total damages at $100,000.
About 25 firefighters from Roy, Ogden, Riverdale and Weber Fire District responded and had the fire out in about a half-hour. The fire originated in the bedroom, Felter said, but the cause was still undetermined Tuesday evening.
There were no injuries, but three people were displaced by the blaze, Felter said.
The American Red Cross in Northern Utah sent a volunteer disaster action team to the scene to assess the situation and provide help to those displaced.
