Power outages hit parts of Weber, Box Elder counties

Power outages left about 4,900 Rocky Mountain Power customers across Weber and Box Elder counties without electricity Tuesday afternoon and evening.

About 1,626 Huntsville and Eden residents experienced the first outage at 4:23 p.m., but the cause was not immediately known, said power company spokeswoman Margaret Ohler.

Then power went out for about 1,500 Ogden-area residents around 5 p.m., also without any immediately clear cause.

About a half-hour later, a third outage left about 1,789 customers across Box Elder County in the dark, according to the company website.

Crews had power restored to almost everyone by 9:15 p.m. As of 10 p.m., 238 customers in South Ogden were still without power and crews were working on fixing that, Ohler said.

Also as of 10 p.m., Ohler was not aware of any cause being determined for any of the outages.
