Clearfield receives CDBG grant monies

CLEARFIELD -- The city receives community development block grant funds on a yearly basis to help residents.

For the 2012 to 2013 year, the city is receiving $217,184.

The funds include money for staff salaries: $14,575 for Youth Resource Center, $9,000 for Davis Community Learning Center, $9,000 for Family Connection Center. There is also $25,000 for administrative costs of city staff.

Meanwhile, the bulk of the money is set for an improvement project. The city has allocated $159,359 for an infrastructure project on Locust Street.

Residents had a chance to review the plan from March 28 to April 26, though no written comments were received. The city council recently approved the funds allocation.

Approval of the funds was unanimous by the city council.
