PLAIN CITY -- The city will foot the bill for $30,000 worth of sewer line on Bill Fox’s property at 5100 W 1500 North.
Councilwoman LaFray Kelley and Councilman Bruce Higley voted against the city paying for the line and Councilmen Joel Maw and Mark Lowther voted in favor. Councilman Brent White was absent. Mayor Jay Jenkins broke the tie vote.
The city will pay for the line, while Fox will pay for labor.
The project will include laying 1,000 feet of sewer line and four manholes to get sewer from 5100 West to 5200 West. Jenkins said City Engineer Brad Jensen had gone through the proposal and estimated the $30,000 cost to the city.
