RIVERDALE — Three businesses new to the Top of Utah plan to open in Riverdale.

Buffalo Wild Wings will open its second Utah location at the corner of 700 West and Riverdale Road at The Crossing development. The city is reviewing building plans. Buffalo Wild Wings also operates a Lehi store.

“This is something we’ve been working on for some time,” said Jim Rumpsa, a representative of H & P Investments, which has been in negotiations with Buffalo Wild Wings since last fall. “It will be a real addition to the city.”

Rumpsa said the casual restaurant and sports bar signed an agreement for the new location in May. The site will include 125 parking spaces. The restaurant is attempting to obtain a state liquor license, something that may delay the start of construction.

Riverdale Community Development Director Randy Daily said the location will include a rock element in the design that the chain typically doesn’t do.

“It’s going to be a good-looking building,” Daily said.“This is a great restaurant use for the site and it should spark interest in new businesses occupying the main clock tower building.”

Apparel and home fashions retailer Gordmans is planning to open in a Riverdale location in July after remodeling the former FYE store at the Family Center, 1101 W. Riverdale Road. Gordman’s has Utah locations in Farmington and South Jordan, including a children’s theater and sports-themed television viewing area.
