WASHINGTON TERRACE -- The Outlaws' winning streak came to an end Saturday night.
Despite rallying from a first-half deficit to take a 2-1 lead early in second half, Ogden was ultimately undone over the final half-hour as Ventura County rallied for a 4-2 victory in Premier Development League action at Bonneville High School.
The loss, which snapped the Outlaws' franchise-record four-match winning streak, dropped Ogden to 6-4-2 (20 points) overall and keeping them in third place in the Western Conference's Southwest Division.
The match finished the home portion of the Outlaws schedule, with Ogden posting a 5-2-1 mark on its home field, the best mark ever for the seventh-year side.
After falling behind in the 28th minute, Ogden rallied to tie the match at 1-1 on a when defender Connor Coletti headed in a long throw-in from midfielder Kyle Christensen in the 40th minute. The match went to the break level, but the Outlaws wasted no time in surging ahead early in the second half.
Central defender Derek Boggs scored a header in the 50th minute off a cross from Matt Kuehl, putting Ogden in front 2-1.
The lead would stand until the 62nd minute when Ventura County's David Velasquez scored the first of three straight goals to lead the Fusion to the comeback. Velasquez scored again just two minutes later to give his team the lead, and then capitalized on a misplayed defensive ball in the dying seconds to clinch the win and strengthen their hold on the Southwest Division lead.
Ogden will return to action on Friday night against the L.A. Misioneros and then take on Fresno in a critical two-match road swing through California.
