Mary Ann and J. Don Wardle

J. Don and Mary Ann Wardle of North Ogden celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a family dinner at the Timbermine Restaurant & Steak House on Wednesday, June 20.
They were married June 20, 1952, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Salt Lake Temple.
He was born July 29, 1929, in Ogden. He worked as a machinist his entire career. His work is his hobby; he says he enjoys it very much. In 1979, he established his own machine shop JD Machine. At that time, it had two employees — he and his wife. It now employs 102. He still has an office he works in every day. He has served in many church callings, including bishop in Canoga Park, Calif., and again in the North Ogden LDS 11th Ward.
She was born Oct. 23, 1929, and grew up in North Ogden. She taught school before raising her five children. A pianist and organist, she has exhibited her skills serving the church. Her life’s work has been raising her children.
Their children and spouses are Rebecca and Jerry Sandberg, Lisa Leigh, Natalie and Brent White, Peggy and Sid Creager, and Matthew Don and Teal Wardle.
They have 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
