TWIN FALLS . William Moriarty lost a lot in a mid-June crash; his truck, his job, his two dogs. But last week provided a bittersweet ending to the story, when the Oregon resident was reunited with Rosie, one of the dogs who was riding with him when he got into the accident. In mid-June, Moriarty crashed his semitrailer while reaching for a spilling drink. The semi’s cab was soon engulfed in flames, killing his 1-year-old Chihuahua. While Moriarty and Rosie were able to escape, the spooked dog took off running. Moriarty was charged with inattentive driving and was fired from his job. But he held out hope for finding Rosie, and asked for Magic Valley residents’ help. Last week, a Jerome family came across Rosie, and Moriarty returned to Idaho to pick her up. Though the dog has singed whiskers, injured paws and has lost a few pounds, "she’s doing good,"Moriarty said. The two returned home on Monday afternoon. --- )2012 The Times-News (Twin Falls, Idaho) Visit The Times-News (Twin Falls, Idaho) at magicvalley.com Distributed by MCT Information Services
