Pineview drowning victim identified

HUNTSVILLE — A 42-year-old Ogden man died Monday evening trying to save his 11-year-old son in Pineview Reservoir.
Weber County Sheriff’s Spokesman Lt. Mark Lowther said Jose Bahena saw hisson struggling in the lake’s water at about 8 p.m. in the Middle Inlet swim area and went into the water to help him. A 12-year-old brother of the struggling boy, who hada life preserver on, also went in to help.
Lowther said the 12-year old managed to help his brother to shore while Bahena disappeared under the water. His body was later found in water about five feet deep.
Lowther said he could not release the names of the boys because they are minors.
