BOUNTIFUL -- The city council has voted to rezone 6.3 acres of property at approximately 600 North and 400 East in anticipation of a development featuring 23 single-family homes.
Following a public hearing recently, the council voted to rezone the property from R-4 to R-4 PDO (planned development overlay), at the request of Gary Wright. Wright plans to develop 23 detached dwellings on the property.
The lots will be accessible from a new public road, which would commence at the intersection of 550 North and 400 East and run the length of the property. It would potentially cross a corner of the adjoining LDS Church property and connect with the stubbed portion of 600 East, officials said.
The routing was reached as a result of a compromise based on input by the planning commission, city staff, neighbors, the project engineer and the developer, according to Aric Jensen, director of Community and Economic Development.
