Farmington council to eliminate surety bonds

FARMINGTON -- City officials have eliminated surety bonds as a mechanism to provide security for safety improvements and have also taken steps to reduce the warranty period for public improvements from two years to one year, per new state guidelines.

At a recent meeting, city council members voted unanimously to eliminate surety bonds and also voted to change the length of the warranty period.
