SOUTH OGDEN - An 85-year-old woman had to be cut out of her car after a nearly head-on collision Saturday afternoon.
A man in his early 40s, who was not immediately identified, was driving south on Harrison Boulevard when his brown Oldsmobile SUV drifted into the northbound lanes, says South Ogden Police Sgt. Dave Labbe.
About 3:50 p.m., the SUV struck a northbound white Chevrolet sedan nearly head-on at 5585 S. Harrison Blvd.
The crash spun the sedan around and its trapped 85-year-old driver.
A rescue team had to extricate the woman from the car before she was taken to the hospital.
Both she and the SUV driver were injured, but details were not immediately available.
Police are investigating the accident and looking into whether drugs or alcohol played a factor.
