FRESNO, Calif. -- The Outlaws return to the road was unkind.
Despite finding the back of the net in each match this weekend, Ogden dropped both decisions during a two-match trip to California in Premier Development League action.
On Saturday night, Ogden came up short by a 2-1 count against the Fresno Fuego, who scored twice in the first half, to hold off the Outlaws at Chukchansi Park.
The Fuego scored in the sixth minute of action and then doubled-up that advantage in the 25th, taking a 2-0 lead into halftime.
Ogden came out firing in the second half, cutting into the deficit on a 65th minute score by Max Malmquist, but the Outlaws couldn't find the equalizer as they dropped their third consecutive decision.
Ogden fell to 6-6-2 with the loss.
On Friday against the Los Angeles Misioneros, Ogden fell behind 2-0 after a first-half penalty kick and then a defensive breakdown late in the half.
The Misioneros quickly made it 3-0 early in the second half and held the Outlaws off until the final minutes when Ross Williams found the back of the net.
Ogden will face the final two matches of its regular season this week, taking on in-state rival Brigham Young on Wednesday at 8 p.m. at South Field in Provo, before traveling to Tucson, Ariz., on July 8 to face FC Tucson. The Outlaws currently trail Tucson by four points in the race for the final Southwest Division playoff berth.
