Donald Hyde and Josephine Anne Howe Geary of Ogden celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a family dinner celebration at the Red Lobster in Layton.
They met while working at the Paramount Theater in Ogden. They were married on June 18, 1952, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Salt Lake Temple.
He was born in Morgan on Feb. 12, 1926, to Charles Calvin and Elizabeth Hyde Geary. He served in the 10th Mountain Division of the U.S. Army and attended art school in Los Angeles. He retired from the American Can Co. He continues to paint and garden.
She was born in Ogden on Dec. 21, 1931, to Harry Patrick Howe and Laura Irene Powell. She enjoyed raising her five children. She enjoys competition, and watching game shows and solving crossword puzzles.
Both have served and held many callings their church. They are also avid Utah Jazz fans and enjoy watching all their games.
Their children and their spouses are Charles Geary, Ogden; Richard and Sue Geary, North Ogden; Jami Leatham, Layton; Janna and Kevin Thompson, of the D.C. area, and DeAnna and Ray Earl, Roy.
They have 18 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren with two on the way.
