Lee and Ginger Jonas of Yakima, Wash., will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on July 4.
The couple was married on July 4, 1962, in Elko, Nev. They made their home in Ogden until 1968.
His job took them to Phoenix at that time. In 1972, a better job opportunity brought them back to Utah until 1976, when his employer transferred their family to Yakima, Wash.
He retired from the brokerage business in 2008, and he now enjoys taking care of his yard and spending time with Ginger. They still reside in Yakima.
She was born and raised in Brigham City. A homemaker, she was an avid crocheter and enjoyed sewing.
Their five children and spouses are Robert and Paula Jonas, Clearfield; Debra and Ron Alleman, Montpelier, Idaho; Bret Jonas (deceased); Terrie Jonas and Stacey Larsen, both of Yakima. They have eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
