PARK VALLEY -- Police suspect a man shot another man in the stomach during an argument Thursday evening.
A 61-year-old man from Salt Lake City and a 41-year-old man from Ogden were visiting property they own in Dove Creek Estates, a subdivision about 20 miles west of Park Valley, said Box Elder County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Kevin Potter.
At 8:41 p.m., the older man called 911 and said he had just shot a man who had threatened him with a gun, Potter said.
Police suspect he shot the younger man in the stomach with a handgun. At the time, they were at the older man's Dove Creek Estates residence at 68200 W. 15722 North.
The victim's wife, who was there, drove him away and called for medical help as the older man also called 911, Potter said.
An Air Med helicopter arrived and took the victim to an area hospital, though Potter could not elaborate on his condition.
The suspect is cooperating with the investigation, which is ongoing.
