OGDEN -- SLUG Magazine kicks off the 13th year of its amateur skate series — Summer of Death, with Lords of SLUG Mag — on July 14 at Crossroads indoor skate park.
This throwback jam style contest will feature two divisions: 17 and under for the mini-rippers and an open division for the big dogs. Shredders will compete for glory on Crossroads’ (95 North Harrisville Road) indoor ramps. Registration starts at 1 p.m. and the contest starts at 3 p.m.
Now in its 13th season, Summer of Death has served as stomping ground for skaters like Lizard King, Adam Dyet and Tyson Bowerbank and has been a staple of summer for many amateur skaters. Lords of SLUG Mag will be the first of two skate contests planned for the 2012 season.
