SALT LAKE CITY — Police say the state courthouse in Salt Lake City has been evacuated after a suspicious bag was found behind the building.
Police Det. Dennis McGowan says a bomb squad with a robot has arrived at the 3rd District Court building and will attempt to examine the suspicious black bag.
McGowan says a sheriff’s deputy found the bag Friday morning on the lawn between the courthouse and a parking garage.
It wasn’t immediately clear what was in the bag or who it belongs to, but court officials ordered the building evacuated as a precaution.
