Career workshop for teens at Davis Applied Technology College

KAYSVILLE — Davis Applied Technical College is inviting area teens to test out careers by taking four-day workshop sessions, some starting Monday.

Workshops open to teens age 14 through 18 are offered in Web and graphic design areas including Photoshop or Dreamweaver; in energy technology; in plumbing; and in architectural and engineering design.

“The program is designed to introduce students before high school or during high school to areas they may want to work in,” said Erin Gray, DATC recruitment officer. “It’s a great way for students determine if a career field is something they want to pursue. We’ve had a lot of people finish the workshops and sign up for classes here.”

And high school juniors and seniors can apply to take regular DATC classes free. For information on that program, visit www.datc.edu/parents.
