OGDEN -- The Veteran's Parade Coordinating Committee for this year's parade and Veterans Ball will hold a planning meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1481 at 907 W. 12th St. in Ogden.

All volunteers wishing to help with the parade or Veterans Ball, submit entries, assist with planning or wanting to suggest ideas are invited to attend.

The meeting is open to the public.

"We hope to gain increased community input into the parade designed to honor all veterans of war and peace time," said parade Co-Chairman Dennis Howland.

"Ogden's veterans parade has become the largest veterans parade in the state and we want to see it continue to grow.

"We would like to see more community entries, such as patriotic floats and salutes to our military, as well as more military units. It is an incredible way to honor all men and women who have served our armed forces, including the National Guard.

"... We can't stress enough that anyone who has honorably worn the uniform of one of our branches of service is a veteran; regardless, if they served in peace or war."

This year's parade will be Nov. 10, which is also the 237th birthday of the U.S. Marine Corps. The Veterans Ball will be held Nov. 9 at the Ogden Eagles Club.
