TUCSON, Ariz. -- Although not gaining the three points it was seeking, the Ogden Outlaws finished their 2012 campaign in strong fashion.
Led by a stellar defensive effort from its back four and goalkeeper Devin Zimmerman, Ogden battled to a scoreless 0-0 draw against FC Tucson late Sunday night at the Kino Sports Complex.
With the result, Ogden finishes its seventh season at 6-7-3, matching the best mark in franchise history, which was previously set in 2007 while the Outlaws played in the Northwest Division.
Ogden, which competed with just 13 players, absorbed early pressure from Tucson as Zimmerman made four first-half saves.
The Outlaws shrugged off the first half and came out firing in the second, outshooting Tucson 5-2 and not allowing a single attempt on frame in the second 45 minutes.
With the draw, Tucson also clinched the second, and final, playoff berth from the Southwest Division in the Premier Development League's Western Conference playoffs later this month.
