Archie and Irene Kelly of Ogden will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. Family and friends may attend an open house in their honor from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 14, at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 140 N. Tyler Ave., Ogden.
They were married July 13, 1962, at Maxwell Parish Church, Glasgow, Scotland.Both were born in Glasgow, Scotland — he in 1940 and she in 1941. They also completed high school there.
They immigrated to San Jose, Calif., with their two daughters in March 1967. A son was born in San Jose in 1970.
He was a tool and die maker for 43 years, and retired in December 2002. She was a secretary in Scotland and worked as a theme park hostess in California.
They moved to Ogden in August 2003 and attend Trinity Presbyterian Church, where he is an elder.
Both enjoyed bowling in California. In their retirement years, they are active in senior exercises, working out five mornings a week in aerobic exercises and water aerobics at the South Ogden Athletic Club and Clearfield Aquatic Center. They enjoy long stitch needlepoint and entering crafts in county and state fairs. She is a prolific knitter, creating baby shawls and blankets. He enjoys gardening and reading.
Their children and spouses are Dan and Kristen Frazier, and Alan Kelly, all of Ogden; and Wendy Montiel, California.
Their seven grandchildren are Brian Montiel, Alfonso Montiel, Christopher Montiel, Ashley Montiel, Kylie Montiel, Valerie Frazier and Natalie Frazier.
