WEST JORDAN -- The father of a 6-year-old West Jordan girl who police say was raped and killed says he holds no grudge against the family of the suspect.
Brad Newbold also says in a statement Wednesday that Tuesday's arrest in the case brings a small measure of closure for his family.
Terry Lee Black remains held on $2 million bond. He is charged with aggravated murder, kidnapping and rape of a child. Sierra Newbold's body was found June 26 floating in a canal near her home.
Authorities say the 41-year-old Black attended the same Mormon church as the Newbold family and was tied to the killing by DNA after being arrested three days later for robbing a nearby bank.
Black's initial court appearance on the murder charge is set for Friday.
