LAYTON -- City officials have given approval to an amended plat for a 40-unit apartment complex in an effort to help the developer get the project on track.
In a recent meeting, the city council voted unanimously to amend the plat for Tuscany Villas at 1250 E. Gentile St., near Fairfield Road. The original plat was approved more than three years ago but a downturn in the economy limited the developer’s ability to obtain financing. The amended plat means the project can potentially be developed in four phases, according to Bill Wright, director of Community and Economic Development for the city.
“It allows some flexibility for the project to be developed,” Wright told council members before the vote.
