2 killed, 1 injured in crash outside Magna

MAGNA — Authorities are investigating whether a blown tire caused a head-on crash that killed two people and seriously injured a woman outside Magna.

Utah Highway Patrol Corporal Todd Johnson says a vehicle driven by the woman swerved into oncoming traffic a little after 10 a.m. Friday on State Road 201 near Interstate 80.

Her vehicle struck a Ford Fiesta, and the two adults inside were killed.

The woman was taken to a hospital by air ambulance.

The identities of the people involved and the genders of the people killed weren’t immediately available.
