Fire damages garage in Syracuse

SYRACUSE -- A garage went up in flames Friday evening and firefighters are investigating the cause.

A mother and her three children were home at 3950 West Baltimore Circle when the garage attached to their house caught fire, said Syracuse Fire Capt. Joe Hamblin.

Within three minutes of the first calls for help, about 6:40 p.m., firefighters were on scene. They were able to quickly knock down the fire, which was mostly contained to the garage, despite strong winds that gave firefighters a little trouble, Hamblin said.

As of late Friday night, they were not yet able to get inside the garage to determine the full extent of the damage or find out what caused it, Hamblin added.

No one was injured.
