Investigation of house fire continues

PLAIN CITY — The state fire marshal is investigating the cause of a blaze that caused heavy damage to a Plain City home on Tuesday.

The fire at the house at 2735 N. Pheasantbrook Way orginiated in the kitchen, said Plain City Fire Chief Jeremy Crowton.

However, no one was cooking in the kitchen at the time, he said, and no one was home when firefighters arrived. Damages are estimated at $400,000.

Because of its investigative expertise, the state fire marshal has been asked to assist the Plain City Fire Department in determing the cause of the blaze Crowton said.
