Memorial to be erected for trooper

HURRICANE — UHP Honorary Col. Don Ipson will be erecting a memorial cross on his property at 10 a.m. today to honor fallen Trooper Aaron Beesley.

The address is 321 N. Old Highway 91, in Hurricane.

The new memorial will stand alongside the other 14 fallen trooper memorials that Ipson has erected on the property.

Beesley died after falling from a cliff while performing a search and rescue helicopter mission in Salt Lake County.

Beesley’s funeral was held at West Point Cemetery on July 7.

He had been assigned to serve in Top of Utah areas.

Beesley also was a member of the Corrine Fire Department.

All are welcome. The Beesley family will be attending.
