Apparent pipe bombs found in repossessed W. Valley truck

WEST VALLEY CITY — Authorities say they found what appears to be pipe bombs in a truck that was being repossessed in West Valley City.

Police say a repossession company picked up a vehicle Tuesday night and took it to a shop in Salt Lake City. Workers who were cleaning out the truck found what looked like pipe bombs.

Salt Lake City bomb squad members responded and detonated the devices, and what’s left is being tested for explosive material.

Salt Lake City Police Lt. Melody Gray tells KSL it appears the devices were real pipe bombs.

Officials are now questioning the owner of the truck.
