DRAPER— City officialssay they’re going ahead with plans for a Christian concert despite protests from a local atheist.
Draper is announcing the Michael W. Smith concert will be held as planned at the Draper Amphitheater on Tuesday.
City officials say they sat down to discuss possibly cancelling the concert over a threatened lawsuit.
After what they called careful consideration, the officials decided the show will go on.
They didn’t identify the person they say objected.
About 700 tickets to the show have been sold, and Draper paid a $21,500 deposit to secure the event.
