DEAN’S LIST: Melanie Michelle Pforts, of Clearfield, was named to the spring semester dean’s list at the University of Iowa. To gain this status, students must achieve a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher on 12-semester hours or more. Pforts is an undergraduate student in the university’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
Kristy Pritt, of Layton, was named to the spring semester dean’s honor roll at Washburn University in Topeka, Kan. To be included on the list, students must be enrolled in at least 12 graded credit hours and attain a semester grade-point average between 3.4 and 3.99.
DEGREE RECIPIENTS: Nathan John Schaff, of Centerville, received a Master of Business Administration in business marketing from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Taylor Jameson Wright, of Kaysville, received a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Iowa.
DOCTORATE DEGREE: Trace Hellstrom recently received a doctorate degree in pharmacy from Roseman University of Health Sciences in South Jordan.
Hellstrom graduated from Weber High School in 2002. He is the son of Shan and Marian Hellstrom of North Ogden.
SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT: Ireland Maguire, of West Haven, daughter of Chief Warrant Officer 2 Gene S. Maguire, U.S. Navy, is the recipient of a $3,000 Commander Dan F. Shanower Scholarship, sponsored by the Naval Intelligence Professionals Foundation Committee.
Maguire plans to continue her education at Utah State University with a major in public health, pursuing a career as a pediatrician.
