LDS Church preparing open house and dedication of Boise Temple

BOISE, Idaho -- After nearly a year, renovations of the Boise Idaho Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are almost complete. Between Oct. 13 and Nov. 10, except Sundays, the public will have a chance to tour the temple.

The temple closed in July 2011 for renovation of the grounds and interior. The marble that characterized the temple’s exterior has been replaced with a white granite. A new gold-leafed statue of the angel Moroni sits atop the temple’s tallest spire. Inside, the temple interior is fully renovated with new finishes and furnishings.

On Nov. 18, the Church will rededicate the temple and the non-LDS public will not be able to view it. Free reservations for the open house can be made through the website boisemormontemple.org.
