Man injured in car, motorcycle crash

SYRACUSE — A 25-year-old man was taken by helicopter to an area hospital after a motorcycle accident here Sunday night.

Syracuse Police Lt. Tracy Jensen said the man was hit by a female juvenile driver who did not see the motorcycle and pulled out in front of him around 9 p.m.

The man was driving westbound on Antelope Drive at 2500 West at an intersection that has stop signs on each side controlling north- and southbound traffic, Jensen said.

The female driver pulled out from behind one of those stop signs, just before it started to rain.

Jensen said the motorcycle rider suffered severe injuries to both of his legs. It was because of those injuries that officials chose to call for a helicopter to take him to the hospital.

Jensen said the motorcycle rider was not wearing a helmet.

The accident was under investigation Sunday night. Jensen said should police determine that someone was at fault, citations would be issued.
