Motorcycle clips semi, man hurt

A motorcyclist was taken by ambulance to McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden following an 8 p.m. Sunday accident on Interstate 84 in Weber Canyon near Mile Marker 92.

Utah Highway Patrol spokesman Cameron Roden said the man, who is in his 40s, lost control of his motorcycle and received substantial but not life-threatening road rash when his handlebars hit into a semitrailer.

Roden said the man was drifting as he looked back in an attempt to change lanes before he clipped the semi.

He had been riding in the left lane.

Roden said the semi driver didn’t stop and likely didn’t even see or feel the impact.

As emergency workers responded, the right lane was closed for about 30 minutes.
