Gate installed at Mantua Reservoir

BRIGHAM CITY -- The gate to Rocky Dugway above Mantua Reservoir has been installed by Box Elder County work crews.

The gate, which is on the east side of the reservoir, on the Cache County side, will be open each year from July through November, Sheriff Lynn Yeates reported to the county commission recently.

When it is closed, there will be a gap to allow foot and horse traffic; no motorized vehicles will be allowed between December and the gate’s opening in July.

The county is working on placing a sign at the bottom of the hill to warn large vehicles, such as trucks pulling trailers, when the gate is closed.

The road up Rocky Dugway eventually connects with the Avon-Liberty Road.
