Collette and Tim Healy

Tim and Collette Healy will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. Family and friends may attend an open house from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 4 at the James Healy residence, 4870 N. Jessie Creek Drive, Pleasant View. Their family will celebrate with a trip to Canada. They were married on Aug. 29, 1962, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Alberta Temple.

Their children are Jeff and Jackie Healy, James and Angela Healy, Jon and Priscilla Healy, Jenny and Kevin Norris, Sarah and Jared Ingalsbe, and Jared Healy. They have 17 grandchildren.

Born and raised in Cardston, Alberta, Canada, her parents were Reed and Fern Card. She attended Utah State University and was a secretary at the Statler Hilton Hotel in Washington, D.C. She enjoyed being a full-time mother to her children and several foster children. She was named Weber County Mother of the Year and Utah Mother of the Year. She is a charter member of the Evergreen Camp of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She has enjoyed serving in ward and stake callings.

Born in Ogden to Wayne and Leah Healy, he graduated from USU. He earned a juris doctorate degree from George Washington University. He was commissioned in the Army, served as a Navy JAG officer and retired as a colonel in the Air Force Reserve after 32 years of combined service. He served as mayor of Pleasant View. He says he was proud to be an attorney at law. He served as bishop, counselor in the stake presidency and counselor to three mission presidents. They served an LDS mission in Kirtland, Ohio. They are hosts at The Joseph Smith Memorial Building.
