Bountiful officials host breakfast

BOUNTIFUL — In order to thank all of the business owners and others who have invested in Historic Main Street over the past 10 years, the Bountiful City Redevelopment Agency will host a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Aug. 8 at 100 South, just east of Main Street.

The primary speakers will be: Bountiful City Mayor Joe Johnson, who will address the public policy aspects of Main Street redevelopment and of creating a vibrant “street life;” and, Mr. John Hepworth, who will address the developer’s perspective of the same topics.

The luncheon is by invitation only, and participants will include state legislators, county commissioners, city council members, real estate and development professionals, and others. Entertainment will be provided by a select group from the 2012 Summerfest performers.

The Bountiful City Redevelopment Agency was originally created by the city council in 1978, but began in earnest in 1983. Since its inception, the RDA has focused on redevelopment along Main Street, specifically between 500 South and 400 North.

“Historic Main Street is the heart of Bountiful,” said Mayor Johnson. “It’s what makes us unique, and we are working hard to make it a vibrant, exciting place.”
