CENTERVILLE -- Three people sustained minor injuries in a single-vehicle rollover Friday afternoon.
The accident happened about 4:10 p.m. at 1700 North and Pipeline Road, said Police Officer Rolynn Snow.
A 2000 Jeep Cherokee was traveling north on Pipeline Road too fast for conditions, lost control and went down an embankment. The vehicle overturned and came to rest on its side.
The male driver and a male passenger in the rear seat were not wearing seat belts. A female passenger in the front seat was wearing a seat belt, said Snow.
The occupants, who are all 17 and from the Salt Lake City area, were not ejected, but were bounced around inside the vehicle, Snow said. They declined medical treatment at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle was cited for failure to maintain control. Neither alcohol nor drugs were a factor in the crash, Snow said.
The Cherokee is a total loss.
